The Postforming high pressure laminate(HPL) must be processed by the special machine with certain requirement to the substrate and glue. We suggest: Before bulky use of Zhongxing Postforming HPL, take small samples and test them on the machine.
- Substrate and Adhesives:
The quality of Substrate has great effect on the postforming operation. First, the rate of containing water or moisture should be about 12%. Second, the substrate should be even, no warp, with well-sanded surface, without dust or oil. The edge to be covered with postforming HPL should be smooth, without ridge but kept same curve radius. It's better to use MDF in good quality. Also please use good urea-formaldyhyde resin as adhesive.
- Adhibiting:
A. Spread the glue on the plane part of the substrate. (No glue is allowed on the curved surface of the substrate)
B. Put the Postforming HPL on the substrate, put apart sufficient space in order to carry out the postforming operation. Make it into a whole part by hot pressure or cold pressure.
C. Push the component into the postforming machine to perform the postforming process(If hot pressure is adopted, postforming process must be conducted after the component cooling down to the room temperature.).
- Postforming process:
In the process of postforming, when the machine meet the HPL, please keep it for 5 seconds, then rotate the HPL along the bent surface and pause 2-3 seconds at the different part of the HPL for 5-6 times. When the machine turns to the dead end, press for 20 seconds to ensure that postformed HPL is sticked firmly to the substrate.
